




Rules and Regulations of Mountain Bike Race “VI Cēsis Velomaratons”
1. The aim of the marathon:
- To promote popularity of mountain bike racing in Cēsis, Vidzeme and Latvia;
- To establish „Cēsis Velomaratons” as a traditional and international bike racing contest;
- To promote active tourism in Cēsis and its surroundings;
- To popularize “Cēsis Velomaratons” as active rest for families.
2. Place and time:
Cēsis, July 29, 2012, Sunday
Start and finish in Cēsis City stadium.
Beginning of the race:
at 11:30 start for Limpo Kids Race (up to and including 12 years, length of the race from 400-1500 m). |

4. Ranking and awards
Individual awards
First three places in all age groups of men and women of “VI Cēsis Velomaratons” will be awarded.
First three places among men and women groups of Draugiem.lv Race will be awarded.
First six men and first six women in absolute ranking will be awarded money prizes and special race-cups.
Every participant who crosses the finish line of “VI Cēsis Velomaratons” will be awarded a special diploma.
Additionally to the ranking within “VI Cēsis Velomaratons” the participants take part in the ranking of Trek MTB according to its rules and regulations.
Team ranking in “VI Cēsis Velomaratons”
Apart from individual ranking, the teams will be ranked within “VI Cēsis Velomaratons” as well. The team consists of 5 participants taking part in the basic distance (60km) irrespectively of the age or gender. For the team ranking, each participant gets the amount of points identical to his or her rank in absolute ranking. The winning team is the one with fewer points (points of all five team members are aggregated)! If any of the team members does not finish the race, he or she receives number of points equal to the number of participants who took place in the distance of 60km. If the number of points for several teams is identical, the winning team is one in which there is a participant with the highest rate in the absolute ranking of the basic distance of “VI Cēsis Velomaratons” (60 km).
The best team will be awarded free participation (for 5 persons) in the mountain bike marathon “VII Cēsis Velomaratons” in 2013.
Additionally to the ranking within “VI Cēsis Velomaratons” the participants take part in the ranking of Trek MTB according to its rules and regulations.
Ranking in Draugiem.lv/klases Race
The participants in Draugiem.lv Race of “VI Cēsis Velomaratons” can set up company teams to participate in the team race. The winners of draugiem.lv/klases will be ranked according to the rules and regulations of Trek MTB marathon. (For additional information visit: www.mtb-maratons.lv)
5. Security
Upon registration in the Internet or at the race venue, each participant of the race acknowledges his or her full responsibility for suitability of his or her health for the race and possible injuries during the race.
Participants under 18 shall arrive together with an adult who signs the application form and assumes responsibility for the participant under 18.
The organizers of the race do not assume the responsibility for possible injuries of the race participants.
Helmets must be worn at all times during the race!

The application is considered received upon payment of participation fee.

7. Registration of participants:
a) at the website http://www.cycling.lv – filling in the registration form and making the payment of participation fee;
b) at the website www.mtb-maratons.lv - filling in the registration form and making the payment of participation fee;

c) On July 29, 2012 from 9.00 to 11.30 – at the race venue – secretariatAll participants wishing to take part in ''draugiem.lv'' Race, mark “draugiem.lv Race" upon registration.
Participants are considered registered only after correct filling in of the registration form and payment of the participation fee!
Handing out of the numbers for the participants – on the contest day from 09:00, at the race venue
The participation fees are not returned to the participants who do not arrive to the race.
9. Modification of the present rules and regulations
The organizers shall have the rights to modify and amend the present rules and regulations.

The organizers shall not be responsible for unfamiliarity of the participants with the present rules and regulations.
10. Claims
The claims shall be submitted in writing within 15 minutes after the end of the participant’s race by making a payment of LVL 20 to the main arbiter. The decision on the claim is made by the main arbiter of the race, and his or her decision shall be considered final.

12. For the attention of participants:
- the participants are asked not to litter the territory of the marathon race and treat the environment with respect. The participant may be punished for leaving waste in the race except for the territory within 100m after refreshment places.
- the participants without helmets or not fastened helmets are disqualified;
- the results of the participants are registered electronically;
- anti-doping control possible during the race;
- if a participant crosses the finish line several times, the last time is registered for the results;
- any participant may submit a claim to the main arbiter if he or she considers any activity before finishing the race restricting him or her;
- the issues not described in the present rules and regulations shall be resolved by the council of arbiters and organizers
